Story

With an art degree from the UK and a fashion background forged in NYC Eliza; CEO and owner of Ali&Joe has turned her passion for art into a thriving apparel company.

Taking what she learned in the fast-paced streets of the New York fashion scene and applying it to her knowledge of textile design and surface pattern, Eliza created Ali&Joe a Brand that is formatted on a “made-to-order” concept and one that merges stencil graphics and elements of mixed media like, studs, fabric fringes and bead.

Growing up in rural England Eliza moved to the USA after graduating Art College and turned her focus to NYC’s fashion scene where she harvested her skills in color theory and print development.  She always dabbled in making and designing on the side and when an opportunity opened up to start her own company selling custom stenciled kids clothing – she jumped in full force.

Now Al&Joe is a thriving brand servicing many brick and mortar stores as-well as an online presence with her innovative snipped tees, custom hoodies, matching sweats and unique embellishments.  It’s no wonder Eliza’s designs are sought after for fashion shoots, party favors, store exclusives and commissions across the country.

With each piece made by hand Eliza is supporting the sustainable culture that is making apparel what it is today and maintaining a conscious effort not to waste.  She uses remnants of her snipped tees to create woven beaded bracelets and fringed jackets as well creating face masks from the sleeve ends of cotton tees during the height of the Covid pandemic.

Not only is Eliza working across all areas of her business she is also involved with many charities throughout the year “it’s very important to me to be giving back along the way, it’s an integral part of networking and ultimately being a good human” Eliza says. Look out for her designs to be timeless yet trend worthy and above all else bringing joy, personalized, quality to your closets and camp bunks.

“. . . if there’s one thing i want to be known for is my complete customer service experience.  I know my business model very well but when i get a note back saying . . “super cozy”, “she loves it thanks”,  “this is my go to style”, “this hoodie makes me happy” or simply “thanks, you are the best!” then I know i have put my best product out there for that particular person.  For me its about the personal connection, that’s what builds a business and makes a brand, in my opinion. For me its about one person at a time, what makes my product look good are the people wearing it.  Everyone is different just like my items and I’m proud to feel connected to every single one, it’s a community.” Eliza xx
